Welcome to Discover Chiropractic Mackay, we are Clint and Jen Mayer. Our practice is built on an ethos of providing holistic health and Chiropractic care to the Mackay Community in a fun and energetic environment. Over the past 35 years the practice has grown and is a buzz of health conscious patients, who live their life to the fullest thanks to the holistic care that we provide.
We took over as the principle owners in 2003 after settling in Mackay from the USA. We fell in love with the vibrance of the Mackay community and contribute our time and resources to many of the regions sporting and lifestyle activities. Family is important to us and we have been blessed with three awesome kids, Sienna, Mason and Sibella.

Meet the team…
Dr Clint Mayer (D.C)
Dr Clint was born and raised in Durban South Africa and Chiropractic was part of his life from his early teens. He had the privilege of playing at a high level of rugby which allowed him to attend the renowned Life Chiropractic University in the U.S.A. on scholarship. Graduating with a Doctorate of Chiropractic he joined an experienced team of Chiropractors and therapists in the USA allowing him to experience taking care of patients for performance and wellness and not just pain-based treatment.
Also certified as a Neuromuscular therapist and Neurokinetic therapist extending his knowledge of muscle testing and imbalances in the human body has added another dimension to practicing Chiropractic and helping both young and old.
Dr Clint is passionate about life and Chiropractic and his belief that everyone needs to strive to achieve optimal health and wellness through aspects of better movement , better eating and less stress. He enjoys every form of exercise (except running) where he is challenged, and relaxing with family at home when there is a gap in the kids sport – NEVER 😉
Dr Jen Mayer (D.C)
Dr Jen Mayer was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. After completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Criminology and a Massage Therapy Diploma, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Dr Jen further studied science courses to achieve her entrance into Life University, College of Chiropractic and graduated in June 2002 with her Doctorate of Chiropractic.
Dr Jen and Dr Clint arrived in Australia in 2003 and were later married on Hamilton Island the following year. They have made Mackay, Queensland their home and have 3 children Sienna, Mason and Sibella.
Dr Jen has been practicing chiropractic in the Mackay region for eight years. She has special interests in family wellness care, including taking care of patients throughout their pregnancy, babies and children.
Dr Lauren Hunter
Dr Lauren grew up in Zimbabwe and after relocating to Mackay in 2011 with her family, she developed a deep passion for health and well-being and sought after a job where she could deliver just that. She recently graduated from Central Queensland University after completing her Bachelors Degree in Science (Chiropractic), followed by her Masters in Clinical Chiropractic.
Dr Lauren is not new to Discover Chiropractic as she worked as a chiropractic assistant for the last 5 years at the front desk. She developed a love for the practice and ethos Dr Clint and Dr Jen had built over the years and continued as part of the Discover family when her degree was finished (finally), switching roles from a Chiropractic assistant, to a Chiropractor.
After dedicating over a decade of her life to being a dancer, she began her chiropractic journey by seeing a chiropractor for an injury sustained in the studio. Her positive experience led her to love Chiropractic and want to share this experience with as many people as possible.
Dr Lauren is passionate about improving the health and function of the Mackay community, and has an interest in caring for patients of all ages.
Dr Connor Stuart
Dr Connor has always had a passion for living and promoting healthy, active lifestyles. Enjoying any outdoor activity like camping, hiking and cross fit. Connor was born and raised in North Queensland where he was luckily enough to be able to study in his hometown, after gaining passion for how he can assist the function and wellbeing of the community.
He graduated as a Chiropractor after completing over five years to achieve a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Chiropractic in Mackay. During which he was lucky enough learn from the other Discover Mackay Chiropractors and develop a toolkit of chiropractic techniques to utilise with the shared ethos of the practice.
While he studied Dr Connor has worked at the practice for over two years where he was able to develop relationships for the patients as he watched them achieve their goals. His goal as a chiropractor is to create realistic plans to help his patients achieve what they want from their day to day lives and athletic performance.
Katelyn Vicary
CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT
Katelyn is From Mackay and enjoys spending time with her friends and family, as well as staying healthy and active outside. She is no stranger to chiropractic care. As a lifelong gymnast, she has benefited from regular chiropractic care since she was a young child and continues to be adjusted while working at Discover Chiropractic. In the years to come, Katelyn strives to experience life through travel and new opportunities.
Ros Green
CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT
Ros is a local lass and has been a Chiropractic fan since she was first adjusted in her late teens. Landing her dream job in 2005 working for a Chiropractor, life became even better when she started at Discover in 2010 with Drs Clint and Jen.
Her greatest passions outside of chiropractic is volunteering at the local RSPCA and time with her family.
Tania Sandford
CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT
Working at Discover Chiropractic has given Tania an opportunity to learn and develop new skills. She enjoys helping our patients everyday to help live a healthier and happier lifestyle.
When she is not at Discover, Tania enjoys spending time with her Husband and 2 adult sons. She also specialises in wedding gown/formal gown alterations. Tania spends her free time volunteering at the Eimeo Surf Life Saving Club, Pilates and catching up with friends and family.
Kim Perkins
CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT
After being a regular patient at Discover for many years, Kim is the newest member of our team. After 20 odd years in the banking industry she loves the change of environment here at Discover Chiropractic, and being involved in helping our patients maintain their health and wellbeing.
A busy wife and mother of teenage boys there is never a dull moment. Spare time is spent enjoying “coffee ” catch ups with friends and regular pilates classes.
